TEXAS CITIZENS’ PETITION SUPPORTING THE RIGHT
TO BEAR ARMS WITHOUT FEDERAL INTERVENTION
We the people of the State of Texas, legal citizens of the United States, petition the Texas State Legislature to pass into law HB 1863 which stipulates the right of Texas to allow for the manufacture, identification, and open transport of firearms and ammunition made within the State, to be sold explicitly to the citizens of Texas for their sole and private use within the borders of Texas. HB 1863 is intended to negate all Federal laws that control and restrict firearm sales that are now imposed upon Texas by the United States Federal Government through their use of existing interstate commerce laws. The State of Texas will control all firearm manufacturing and sales within its State boundaries without Federal interference and it will be the sole responsibility and authority of the Texas State Legislature to enact any firearms laws as voted upon and approved by we the people of Texas. We invoke the 10th Amendment of the United States Constitution that applies to State Rights, and the 2nd Amendment of the United States Constitution that applies to our rights to own and bear arms, as our authority to initiate this petition.
